CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man was arrested this week, charged with transmitting obscene material to a child.

Randall Kirk Means, 32, was arrested Monday, Oct. 7 by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

CCSO investigators recently conducted an investigation into Means and found that Means was transmitting obscene material to a minor over social media.

“I warn parents continuously about social media apps and monitoring who they let their children be friends with,” Sheriff Matt Gentry said. “It’s a good idea to have your children’s passwords and also to randomly check who they speak with and what apps they have on their phone as some apps are a disguise and are really social media apps.”

Means could be facing more charges as the investigation continues.

In a statement to The Tribune, the CCSO expressed gratitude to Brooks’ Place Child Advocacy Center for its assistance in the case.
