Funeral services for James Lewis “J.L.” Parker will be Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Revival Center, with Pastor Jeremy Wilbanks, Bishop Greg Wilbanks and Rev. Jim Hampton officiating, and interment in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Parker passed away at his home Oct. 10, 2019 at the age of 71.
He was born Jan. 2, 1948 to Chester Lewis Parker and Maggie Irene Estes Parker. He was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Revival Center for over 30 years. He retired from CSX Railroad and later served as principal at Cornerstone Revival Center, and as Sunday School Director for many years. He was a substitute bus driver for Fairview School and was a member of the Cullman 911 Board. He loved his family and especially his grandsons, Jadon and Carson Parker.
Mr. Parker is survived by his son, Jim (Beth) Parker; his daughter, Kim (Craig) Cadle, a brother, Roger (Cindy) Parker; six sisters, Virginia Taylor, Edna Plott, Glenda Cummings, Mickey Bates, Wynell Speegle and Becky Taylor; two grandchildren, Jadon Parker and Carson Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Mary Ellen Parker.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. at Cornerstone Revival Center located at 3151 Alabama Hwy. 69, Cullman, AL 35058.
