BAILEYTON, Ala. – Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, a suspect led officers from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Cullman Police and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office on a chase across Cullman County, through areas around Berlin, Simcoe, Fairview, Gold Ridge, Hulaco, Joppa and Baileyton. When the suspect vehicle appeared to be headed toward Arab, Marshall County authorities were also notified.

At one point, the suspect’s vehicle stopped long enough to let one passenger out on a remote county road. Law enforcement officers immediately behind continued to pursue the car when it sped away, while officers farther behind searched for the passenger.

The pursuit ended on County Road 1570 near the intersection with Grandiflora Road/County Road 1595, north of Parkside Elementary School. The driver and two passengers were detained at the scene.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office will release details of the incident Monday.

This is a developing story.
