COLONY, Ala. – This Saturday evening, Aug. 24, the town of Colony will be celebrating its seniors and helping them out a little with “Sassy Senior at 60 Plus,” a senior fashion show at the Colony Educational Complex.

According to Councilwoman Ethel Alexander, the fundraiser will help the center with expenses, from purchasing bingo prizes, to providing Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners for the community’s seniors.

Models of all ages are welcome to come and show off their finest. Adults can enter for $5, children for $2.  Town officials such as Mayor Donnis Leeth, who often demonstrates that he can dress to impress, have been invited to participate.

The show will also feature a special treat from some local ministers, as Alexander explained, “We will have about three or four pastors and their wives modeling look-alike outfits for Sunday morning or pastor anniversary. They will be coming from Warrior and Hayden.”

Vendors will be on-hand selling Mary Kay, baked goods and jewelry. Tables will be available for other vendors at a cost of $10.
