CULLMAN, Ala. – A great day of fun activities is planned Saturday, June 22 for the Saving Forgotten Warriors (SFW) inaugural Pitmaster Challenge 2019. The Jack Aces Riding Club will host A Ride to Honor the Fallen, benefiting SFW, prior to the Pitmaster Challenge, which will take place at Smith Lake Park.

The ride will begin at Hawg Engineering (230 U.S. Highway 278, Cullman, AL 35057), with kickstands up at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is over, but riders can still register the day of the ride beginning at 9 a.m. T-shirts will be available for those who have pre-registered. A Chick-Fil-A registration breakfast will be available before the ride begins.

The cost to register is $20 per person and includes breakfast and a barbecue lunch. The ride will finish at Smith Lake Park, where the Pitmaster Challenge will be in full swing. All proceeds will go to SFW for projects to help veterans.

Jack Aces President Derrick Barton said, “If you ride, two or three wheels, come on out. It’s for a great cause. Chick-Fil-A has donated biscuits for breakfast, so you get two meals, a T-shirt and a great ride for $20.”

The approximately two-hour ride will finish at Smith Lake Park just in time for a great variety of barbecue cooked by pitmasters and some great music. The kid-friendly event will also feature bouncy houses, craft vendors and a mechanical bull. Admission is free. Activities are scheduled until 3:30.

Three bands are lined up to perform at Saturday’s Pitmaster Challenge. By All Means will kick things off at noon, followed by Jason Brian Willingham at 1:15 and Shootin’ You Straight at 2:15.

Donations will be taken for food tasting, and food tickets will be for sale the day of the event for $10.
