CULLMAN, Ala.  – Cullman County Animal Shelter volunteer Donna Ruttkay shared some good news about past Pets of the Week with The Tribune recently, saying, “Whiskey, Jelly Bean and Pumpkin Seed were adopted…Yay!”

Recently-featured pups Peanut and Sugar Pie are still available.

Ruttkay shares this week’s Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

Spy is a 1 1/2-year-old boxer mix with a somewhat rare but distinctively cool freckled tongue!  She’s a laid-back, low-energy pet with a submissive temperament who likes to hang close by her human companions.  She’s quiet when in her kennel, and great on her leash. She was surrendered by an owner who, unfortunately, can no longer take proper care of her, so she’s accustomed to being loved.

Spy has the makings of a good reading, companion, emotional support or therapy dog.

Discount doggie!

Spy has already been spayed, so her adoption fee will be substantially reduced.  Check with the shelter for details.

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior.  Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Please consider adopting to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
