Funeral services for Glenda Bates will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Andrew Siegenthaler will be officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Mrs. Bates passed away on Saturday, June 1. She was born March 18, 1941 to Theodore and Vella Mae Watts. Glenda was Center Manager at Cullman Commission on Aging for 24 years until her retirement. While there she spread love and joy to the many seniors that she spent her days with. Whenever she received praise she was always quick to say that working there was a true blessing for her. While there she made many wonderful friends and memories including an extra special friend, Becky Faulk. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles H. Bates; son, Chuck Bates; and three brothers, Junior Watts, Bill Watts, and Jack Watts.
Survivors include daughters, Patti (Jimbo) Waldrop and Kim (Eddie) Canaday; grandchildren, Jarad Waldrop, Nick Canaday, Magda Waldrop, Reed Canaday, and Jordan Canaday; sister, Polly Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the service at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
