BREMEN, Ala. – It was all Cold Springs from the start on Monday and after taking a 2-0 lead over Vinemont in the first and stretching it to 4-0 in the third, they plated 11 runs in the fourth inning to put the game away after just four innings by a score of 15-0. Anna Katherine Voce allowed just one in the rout, walking two and striking out six for the Lady Eagles.
Toni West (two runs scored) finished with a hit and three RBIs for Cold Springs. Crimson Gann (three hits and two runs scored), Voce (two hits and a run scored), Kyla Aaron (two hits and two runs scored), Hayden Goodwin (two hits and a run scored) and Lacey Rice (hit and two runs scored) each drove in two runs.
Cold Springs and Vinemont will both be on the road Tuesday to take on Falkville and Cleveland respectively.
Holly Pond 7 – Hanceville 4
The Lady Broncos knocked off Hanceville on the road Monday night thanks in large part to a 3-RBI performance from Cierra James. The left fielder finished the game 3-for-4 with two doubles and Emili Perry collected a pair of hits in the win. Madyson Rickman, Madison Heatherly and Kaylee Stallings posted hits for Holly Pond as well.
Cassidy Campbell finished with a homerun and a double at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs and Destiny Short recorded a pair of hits in the loss as well.
Albertville 6 – Cullman 2
Cullman held a 2-1 lead after four innings, but Albertville scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth, and the Lady Bearcats couldn’t recover as they wound up falling on the road 6-2.
Faith Guest (one run scored) and Savannah Davis each finished with a hit and an RBI for Cullman, while McKenna Kline added two hits and Alex Stansell finished with a hit. The Lady Bearcats will host Hayden on Tuesday.
Meek 8 – Hubbertville 4
Meek trailed 4-2 at home against Hubbertville in the bottom of the fourth, but the Lady Tigers quickly erased that deficit with a five-run fourth to pull away and win it 8-4.
Emma Fincher led the way for Meek with three hits, four RBIs, and a run scored. Bailee Fincher added a pair of hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored. LaKota Alden ended up with a hit and an RBI. Abby Phillips chipped in with a pair of hits, while Savannah Smith finished with a hit and two runs scored.
