Obituary: Onnavee Parker

Funeral service for Onnavee Tilley Parker, 90, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Fellowship Cemetery, Ministers Mike Waters and Sonny Tucker officiating.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Parker passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her residence. She was born July 27, 1928 to Thomas Corbin and Madel Crider Tilley.  She was a selfless servant of Christ. She was a beloved member of the West Point School staff and a member of Baldwin Church of Christ.  She and her husband were longtime owners of Parker Grocery.  She was an avid gardener and loved to cook.  She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies and salsa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Parker; sisters, Icie Wallace, Chiquita McBrayer, Eulene Wallace.

Survivors include her daughters, Patti Freeman, Susan (Robert) Peinhardt; sisters, Barbara Persall, Billie Sue Persall, Fran Pierce; grandchildren, Reggie (Julie) Freeman, Jessica (Whit) Rice, Austin (Julia) Peinhardt; great grandchildren, Ellie, Natalie and James Parker Freeman, Berkeley and Calloway Rice, Chloe Parker Peinhardt and countless honorary grandchildren who referred to her as Grandma.

Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:30-8 p.m.
