ATHENS, Ala. – The Lady Bearcats travelled to Athens Thursday night looking to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Fort Payne on Monday and they did just that with a 10-1 win on the road.
Abby Branham led Cullman with four goals in the win, followed by Jorryn Barnette who finished with three goals and an assist. Ashlei Bryant finished with a game-high four assists to go along with a goal and Mimi Lunsford added a goal as well. Mercy van Dyke recorded one goal and an assist, Emily Moss collected two assists and Annabeth Mauldin picked up an assist as well.
Cullman Head Coach Jacob Brown was happy with the way his team was able to adjust tonight and wants to see them keep growing as the season progresses.
“We played well. We made some tactical adjustments that we have been struggling with the last few games,” Brown said. “Some things we had never done before, and they did it beautifully. Hopefully we can build on it and continue going forward.”
The win at Athens puts the Lady Bearcats at 4-2 on the season and they’ll look to for win number five when they travel to Guntersville on Monday.
