HANCEVILLE – Wallace State Community College (WSCC) hosted the Cullman area’s district high school scholars’ bowl tournament on Friday, with seats at the state championship tournament up for grabs.  Continuing its quality performance levels from the regular season, West Point High School took first place in Division One, while Good Hope High School took first place in Division Two.  Both went undefeated to advance to state in their respective divisions.

WSCC physics instructor Christine O’Leary, who oversees academic competition at the school, told The Tribune that St. Bernard’s team, which outscored West Point in the overall event point count but lost to them in head-to-head play, might qualify for one of the state tournament’s wild card slots.  Those will be determined at a later time.
