Tressie Elizabeth Ray Monk, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019. Tressie was a hard working woman who enjoyed working in her yard and making her flower gardens look beautiful.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Herman Monk; parents: Ernest and Lutie VanPelt Ray; brother, Elvis Ray and sisters: Nell Meadows, Pearl Reid and Edith Stull.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Wanda (Keith) Sanders of Vinemont; son, Damon (Vicki) Monk of Cullman; and grandchildren: Amanda Sanders, Dustin Monk, Jonathan (Brandi) Shiflett and Austin (Heather) Shiflett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 at Moss Service Funeral Home from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.
The Celebration of Life for Tressie Elizabeth Ray Monk will begin at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home following the visitation, with Bro. Tony Wood officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Decatur, AL.
