Franklin D. Hanson passed away on January 5, 2019 at the age of 85 years old.

Frank was born in Winston County, Alabama to William and Mary Hanson. He was one of twelve children. He spent most of his life in Cullman County. He enlisted in the Air Force and served honorably for three years during the Korean War. After his service, he moved back to Cullman County and graduated from Saint Bernard College in Cullman. He began working at Service Oil Company. He eventually bought the company and ran it successfully for many years until he retired.

Frank loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed going on vacations to the beach and on cruises with his family. He also loved Alabama football and he loved to play golf. He was a founding member of the Cullman OFC and enjoyed his weekly Friday meetings and golf outings. He was very thankful for his church, the First Presbyterian Church in Cullman, and his church family. He always had an infectious smile and a sparkle in his eyes. We will all miss him so much.
