HANCEVILLE – The 29th annual Cullman County Christmas Parade, hosted by the Hanceville Civitan Club, will take place this Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. This year's grand marshal will be Sen. Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman and the theme is "The Joy of Fellowship."
The parade will travel from College Drive south on U.S. Highway 31 to Hanceville Fire Station 1, where there will be an open house.
The parade was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved to Sunday due to the threat of storms, according to Hanceville Civitan Brenda Carter.
"The Cullman County EMA (Emergency Management Agency) said that the storms will be rolling through Saturday into Sunday and be out by Sunday morning," said Carter. "You can't have a parade without a marching band. You can't get the instruments out in that weather. It's supposed to be nice and sunny on Sunday."
Entries will be taken up until the parade begins. Those interested in participating should contact Brenda Carter at 256-887-3508. The entry fee is $5. Line up will be at 2 p.m. at Wallace State.
