CULLMAN – Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry and the Cullman County Sheriff's Rodeo Committee recently donated $15,500 from the proceeds of the 2017 Sheriff's Rodeo to Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette and Cullman City Schools Superintendent Dr. Susan Paterson.
The money will be divided between the 31 schools in Cullman County that have special needs children.
"As I have said many times, the special needs rodeo is one of the highlights of the year for us at the sheriff's office. It's a great opportunity for the staff to be with the children and see the smiles and joy it brings," said Sheriff Matt Gentry.
The special needs rodeo precedes the Cullman County Sheriff's Rodeo, which will take place Dec. 7-8, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center. The special needs rodeo is will be Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
