Volunteer training this Saturday

Colony’s new food pantry will hold its first volunteer training session at the Colony Educational Complex this Saturday, Oct. 6, starting at 9 a.m. with breakfast prepared by councilman and former professional chef, James Ashford.  Come to eat, stay to help feed!  The pantry will hold an open house on Oct. 17 and will begin distribution of food on the first Wednesday in November.

Carpenter’s Cabinet food ministry

Carpenter’s Cabinet is an established faith-based ministry with pantries in Falkville and Holly Pond in partnership with the North Alabama Food Bank.  Once set up, Colony will be able to purchase food in bulk from the North Alabama Food Bank for only 14 cents per pound; donations to the town’s pantry will be tax deductible.
