CULLMAN – “Dust off your cowboy hats and pull on your dancin’ boots” is what The United Way of Cullman County (UWCC) is asking its supporters to do. The organization’s Young Professionals Board is hosting the inaugural Women United event this Thursday, Sept. 27 from 6-9 p.m. at Loft 212.

Women United will be a casual and fun-filled event to help raise money for local United Way partner agencies.

UWCC Assistant Director Becky Goff, who will take over as executive director on Sept. 29, said, “We are super excited about Women United. Thursday night will be our kickoff for a new board of women we are planning for 2019. We hope to recruit local female leaders who want to help the United Way and address the issues facing women and children in our community. We want women from all areas of the community from professionals to stay-at-home moms. The women will be able to shape the structure of the board and focus on tasks they choose.”

The Chris Posey Band will be providing live music ranging from country to blues. Students from the Dance Factory will be teaching classic line dancing as well as some newer dances

A live auction will include jewelry, a Michael Kors purse, trips, grills, gift certificates and more.

Tickets are $75 or table of eight is $550. Each ticket will include dinner and a drink. Tickets can be purchased at the United Way office (309 First Ave. NE) or at  https://conta.cc/2pxMPK2.

Loft 212 is located in downtown Cullman at 212 Fourth St. SW.
