CULLMAN – Investigators with the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two men, in separate incidents, for crimes against children.

On Friday, James Tyler Hinman, 37, of Hanceville, was charged with torture, willful abuse of a child under the age of 18 after an investigation allegedly determined he had abused a minor child.

Brandon Duane Combs, 36, of Cullman was arrested by CCSO deputies and investigators in a separate and unrelated case on Monday after deputies determined that a minor child in his custody tested positive for methamphetamine.  Combs was charged with chemical endangerment of a child.

Due to the graphic nature of the crimes, and because the crimes involve minor children, the CCSO cannot release additional details.

“Anytime children are victims of a crime it will break your heart and also make you mad at the same time,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “We would also like to thank the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) for their help when we have cases involving children.”

Both men have made bond.
