CULLMAN – Whether your pet has paws, hooves, scales or feathers, you will want to be at Rumors Deli Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for Paws for a Cause. All proceeds will be benefit the Cullman Area Animal Welfare Association (CAAWA). Get your pets and family ready for food, games, prize drawings, contests and more.
The pet contests will begin at noon. The categories are: Best Owner/Pet Look-alike, Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Pet Hello, Waggiest Tail, Biggest Pet, Smallest Pet.
There is a $1 entry fee per contest or $5 to enter them all. Trophies, donated by Awards Palace, will be awarded to the winners. All animals are welcome to participate so if your goat can wiggle its tail, your pig looks fabulous in a tutu, or your frog can jump through hoops, they need to be there.
There will be many prize drawings for gift cards and gift bags from local businesses and restaurants. Other events include: face painting, snack and Pawperchino stand, name and paw stamps, a bouncy house, rally course and concessions. Pools will also be available to help keep your pet cool.
Dog food, cat food and monetary donations for CAAWA are greatly appreciated. Rumors Deli is also looking for volunteers to help with the event. If individuals, groups or service organizations are interested in helping, please contact Annette at Rumors Deli.
