CULLMAN – The Cullman County Sheriff's Office is set to host a two-part Women's Self-Defense Class. Part one will take place on Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m., and part two will be on Tuesday, July 31 at 6 p.m. Both parts will be held at the CCSO training facility, next door to the CCSO. To attend part two, a participant must attend part one.

The class, which will be taught by CCSO deputies, will focus on the Equalizer Self-Defense Program, with an emphasis on hands-on self-defense for situations including muggings, assaults and others.

"I have said many times, we at the Cullman County Sheriff's Office are advocates of our citizens having the knowledge and training they need to protect themselves," said Sheriff Matt Gentry. "Our deputies are some of the best at teaching self-defense techniques I have seen."

To register, email Brad Williams at bwilliams@cullmansheriff.org or call 256-734-0342. Registration is not required, but it is encouraged, to give the CCSO a good idea of how many participants will attend.
