CULLMAN – Look out, Cullman residents: restaurant delivery service will be available beginning this Thursday, June 14. Huntsville-based GrubSouth, which started six years ago in a Huntsville living room, has gone from contracting with nine restaurants to now between 150-200 in Huntsville, Madison, Athens and Decatur. The service is expanding into Cullman County, said Marge Loveday, who co-owns the business with Katie Herron, and GrubSouth is accepting applications now for delivery drivers.
GrubSouth currently has delivery contracts with LawLer's Barbecue, Buffalo Wild Wings, Karma's Coffeehouse, I Love Bacon, Strada Di Napoli, Krystal and Papa Murphy's, and is still negotiating with many more businesses. The delivery radius may vary for each restaurant depending on how long the food will stay hot and fresh, but the average is 7-10 miles, according to Loveday. Orders can be placed online at http://grubsouth.com/ or on the app, which is available for both Apple and Android.
The website also has applications for delivery drivers and restaurant partnerships.
Qualifications for drivers are as follows:
– Valid driver's license
– Smartphone
– Reliable vehicle
– At least two years of driving experience
– Clean driving record
– Pass a background check
– Strong customer service skills
– Positive and professional attitude
When asked for any other comments, Loveday smiled, "We're happy to be here. We love to support local restaurants. We do include corporate restaurants and franchises, but we start locally and love to support the local restaurants who may need a boost in sales.”
