HOOVER – Cullman looked to stay undefeated on day two of the Buccaneer Classic as they took on Pell City, and the Bearcats pulled it off, taking the game, 6-1.

Cullman got on the scoreboard first when Will Morrison hit a solo home run with two outs, then, after a Peyton Colvard single and a Grayson Taylor walk, Brennen Norton made it 2-0 with an RBI single up the middle.

The long ball got the Bearcats started in the top of the third when Taylor hit one over the center field wall with one out; after a Brennen Norton double, one out later, Carson Freeman hit an RBI single to center field, then Hayden Henderson lined an RBI triple to left field to make it 5-0.

Pell City got its first run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third and looked to add some in the bottom of the fourth as three singles loaded the bases with two outs, but new Bearcat pitcher Tyler Nunnelley, who started the inning in relief of Dylon Wallace, struck out the final batter to get out of the inning without allowing a run. Colvard added an RBI groundout in the sixth for Cullman's sixth and final run of the game as the Bearcats went on to take the game, 6-1, to go to 3-0 in the Classic.

Wallace went three innings and allowed just two hits, one run and struck out two. Nunnelley went four innings; he allowed eight hits and struck out three. Brennen Norton collected two hits and an RBI for Cullman. Five other Bearcats had at least one hit and one RBI in the contest. For the second straight game, Cullman had more walks (9) than hits (7).

The Bearcats improve to 13-7 overall and will conclude the Buccaneer Classic when they take on Grissom Friday at 1:30 p.m.
