NORTHWEST REGIONAL: Schedule for local teams; play starts Thursday

CULLMAN –  The annual Northwest Regional Tournament gets underway on Thursday at Tom Drake Coliseum on the campus of Wallace State Community College. Six local teams will be in action over the course of the tournament looking to move one step closer to the Final 48 in Birmingham Feb. 26-March 4.

Admission to the tournament is $8 per day or $40 for the week. Parking is $5.

Here’s when you can catch local teams in action:

Thursday, Feb. 15

Class 2A Girls: Lamar County v. Cold Springs- 3 p.m.

The winner will play the winner of the Mars Hill-Phil Campbell game next Monday at 3 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 16

Class 1A Boys: Meek v. South Lamar- 7:30 p.m. 

The winner will play the winner of the R.A. Hubbard-Belgreen matchup next Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 17

Class 4A Girls: Good Hope v. Danville- 9 a.m. 

The winner will play the winner of the Priceville-Deshler game next Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Class 3A Boys: Holly Pond v. Hanceville- 7:30 p.m. 

The winner will play the Elkmont-Lauderdale County winner next Wednesday at 2:15 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 19

Class 5A Girls: Fairview v. Wenonah- 9 a.m. 

The winner will play the Pleasant Grove-Lee-Huntsville winner next Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Class 5A Boys: Fairview v. Wenonah- 10:30 a.m. 

The winner will play the winner of the Pleasant Grove-Lee-Huntsville game next Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.
