Troy Melvin Ellis, 59 of Addison, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Brookwood Medical Center.
Troy was born on November 28, 1958 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He attended Addison High School. Among his favorite past times were hunting and fishing, but he also enjoyed summers on the lake and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger.
The family received friends on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Addison Church of God, where a memorial service was held afterwards. Pastor Rodney Ridgeway and Brother Mackey Watts officiated.
Troy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Allcorn Ellis; mother, Kathaleen Brannon Ellis; son, Jonathon Reed Ellis and his wife Jennifer Lee; daughters, Jessica Blackwood and her husband Nick, Erica Patterson and her husband Brian, and Kelita Cox and her husband Kevin; brothers, Allan Ellis and his wife Mary, and Joe Cox and his wife Sherry; sisters, Kathy Jensen, Tammie Bowling and her husband Keith, and Kittie Lynn Midkiff. He was "Papa Troy" to 7 grandchildren, Colorado, Danner, Ryan, Gage, Scott, Christian and Savanah. He is also survived by a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Ellis; grandparents, Clifford and Mamie Brannon, Troy Ellis and Eva Ellis Denson.
