Funeral services for Riley N. "Coach" Duke, 82 of Logan, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Moss Service Funeral Home, Brother Steve Bryan and Brother Delbert Freeman officiating, with interment in Emeus Cemetery. Moss Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Duke graduated from St. Bernard College and spent his entire teaching and coaching career at Logan Jr. High School.
Coach Duke was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey N. Duke and Myrtle Lovell Duke; and his brother John Boyd Duke. He is survived by his loving wife Jeanette of 54 years; two daughters, Annette Duke McAdams (Richard) and Shelly Duke Elrod (Bobby); one son, Randy Duke (Angela); Seven grandchildren: Brittney McAdams Saffell; Courtney McAdams; Kayla Elrod Bryson (Brett); Willis Richard "Trey" McAdams III; Nathaniel Duke and Maggie Duke, great-grandchildren: Reagan Saffell; Everett Saffell; and Riley Saffell, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. for friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Logan Memorial Methodist Church or the Logan Preservation Foundation (Logan Junior High) (PO Box 2075, Cullman, AL 35055).
