Brenda Sue Evans, 66, of Haleyville, entered into rest on January 25, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Evans was born on August 15, 1951, in Rock City, Alabama.
Brenda graduated from Brilliant High School and went on to attend Shelton State Community College class of "92". She worked at Genisis House in Haleyville since 1995. Brenda attended The Rock Family Worship Center in Huntsville for 18 years. Brenda loved her children and grandchildren. Since her first grandchild was born, not many days have gone by that she was not watching at least one of her grandchildren. After school, she always had their favorite snacks ready and waiting for them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Brother Ricky White will officiate. Burial will follow in Griggs Place Cemetery, Glenn Allen, Alabama.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 24 years, Anthony Wayne Evans; son, Randal Wayne Shugart and his wife Marleen; daughters, Tina Newell and her husband Jonathan, Kenda Watts and her husband Wes, Natasha Herring, Jessica Evans; her father, Buddy Ashmore; and sister, Barbarette Mathis and her husband Dwight. She was "Maw Maw Brenda" to 14 grandchildren, Isaac Newell, Billy, Jesse, Bella and Cason Watts, Sarah and Emma Herring, Stormie, Sierra, and Dakota Childress, Austin Brown, Brieana Stutwille, Brooke Freeman and Evelyn Jay. She was preceded in death by her mother Lilie Mae Ashmore and brother Gary Ashmore.
