Atholeene Lee Goodwin age 98 of Cullman, died Thursday, January 25, 2018.
She was a graduate of Auburn University. Mrs. Goodwin taught school for 37 years. She was a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Theta Chapter and was a relentless genealogist, who was a member of many genealogical organizations including Daughters of the American Revolution, Dripping Springs Chapter.
Mrs. Goodwin was preceded in death by her parents: Loyd W. Lee and Lula Mae Gentry Lee; husband, Fred Goodwin; daughter: Wanda Jean Freeman; and her infant brother, John Curtis Lee. She is survived by daughters: Margaret Simnons and Geraldine Ryan (Harris); brother, Harold L. Lee; grandchildren: Elizabeth Simnons and Michael Wade Freeman (Rita Kay) and her great grandchildren: Sadie Freeman and Chester Wade Freeman.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 12 noon until the celebration of Mrs. Goodwin's life, which will begin at 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cullman City Cemetery.
