CULLMAN – Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs was in Washington, D.C. today to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House.

"It was a honor to represent Cullman today as I met with President Donald Trump along with a small group of other mayors," said Jacobs. "He emphasized how cities are the driving force behind job creation. To this point he talked about how regulations had been rolled back and would continue to help us with infrastructure projects. He said he would be talking about the anticipated stimulus package during the State of the Union Address and introducing it soon after that. All of the mayors were enthusiastic about his first year due to the economy and what it had done for them locally. We then met with Vice President Pence and various key department personnel to discuss issues that were critical to us."

Jacobs was one of 75 mayors invited to meet with Trump to discuss infrastructure and other issues relating to their municipalities. The meeting was at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the East Wing of the White House.
