CULLMAN – Crews from Cullman Fire Rescue on Sunday responded to a gas line on fire on Waterford Drive in Terri Pines, according to Cullman Fire Rescue Division Chief Brian Bradberry.

Bradberry said the line was ruptured and caught fire while repairs were being made to a water line.

"Our crews pulled precautionary exposure hoselines while Cullman Jefferson gas shut the gas off to the line. The line supplied a gas lamp in an island in the middle of the street," said Bradberry. "The guys did a good job of taking precautions, and the position of the gas lamp helped minimize any exposures."

Bradberry also said, "Cullman Jefferson Gas did a great job of securing the line, and the fire was contained to the street."

The fire is out at this time.
