CULLMAN – The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the counties of Marshall, Jackson, De Kalb and Cullman until 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills are expected overnight into Wednesday morning.
Snow occurring. Very cold wind chills expected. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the evening commute. Additional snow accumulations of less than one inch are expected. Expect wind chills to drop into the zero to 10 below zero range overnight for most locations. Atop the Cumberland Plateau, including Sand and Lookout Mountains, wind chills may drop into the 10 to 15 below range.
The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

Tonight… Light snow will end this evening along and near the I-59 corridor in northeast Alabama. A dusting of additional accumulation would be expected through around 9 p.m. CST. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Cullman, Marshall, Dekalb, and Jackson Counties until 9 p.m. CST.
Regardless of location, untreated, wet roads will remain hazardous overnight due to the light snowpack and black ice. Travel is discouraged unless it is absolutely necessary!
North winds in the to 5 to 15 mph range will combine with very cold temperatures to produce wind chills below zero late tonight into Wednesday morning. Most valley locations will drop into the zero to 10 below range, with 10 to 15 below zero possible atop the Cumberland Plateau.
