CULLMAN – North Alabama, including the Cullman area, remains under a Wind Chill Advisory until noon Wednesday, Jan. 17.

- CLOSED: Cullman City Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Cullman County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Winston County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Wallace State Community College will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Good Samaritan Health Clinic will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Cullman Christian School will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: St. Paul's Lutheran School will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: St. Bernard Prep School will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Sacred Heart School will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Cullman County Circuit and District Courts and Clerk's Office will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: All Cullman County Senior Centers will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17, along with the Commission on Aging offices. The Commission on Aging reminds residents to check on homebound loved ones.
- CLOSED: The Cullman County Public Library System will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Cullman Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) buses will not run on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: Cullman County Department of Human Resources will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: All City of Cullman offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Sanitation will run as normal.
- CLOSED: All Cullman County offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Sanitation will run as normal, however, routes will be three hours behind.
- CLOSED: All Cullman City Parks and Recreation facilities and offices will be closed, and all programs canceled, on Wednesday, Jan. 17. CP&R will post updates around 9 a.m. if anything changes.
- CLOSED: The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- CLOSED: The St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- RE-OPENING: The Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center will re-open at noon today, Wednesday, Jan. 17. It will close at 7 p.m.
- CANCELED: Wednesday night Converge services canceled at all Desperation Church campuses.
Here's a list of road closures. Check back for updates.
- The City of Cullman reports that all city roads are open at this time.
- Cullman EMA reports that all other roads in Cullman County are open and passable; however, it said, "Road conditions in Cullman County have not changed. Non-essential travel is discouraged. If you do have to travel, leave early and take your time. Icy patches have been reported on roadways as well as on bridges and overpasses.Cullman County Road Department crews have been out since just after daylight to check county roads and mitigate problem areas. Drivers are advised to be aware that there are some areas of ice especially on secondary roads and in areas that are sheltered from the sun and wind. Non-essential travel is discouraged but roads are open and passable if travel is necessary. Some patchy ice in areas but all state roads in Cullman County are open and passable. ALDOT crews continue to check I-65 to mitigate any problem areas. Travelers are advised to be aware that there could be icy spots and give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination."
From the National Weather Service in Huntsville:
"The combination of bitterly cold, subfreezing temperatures and snow accumulations has led to the development of black ice on area roadways. Emergency management and law enforcement officials have reported slick roads, and dangerous travel conditions across Northern Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, particularly on secondary roads. These hazardous travel conditions will persist through much of the morning, including the rush hour commute as temperatures will remain well below freezing. High temperatures will rise only into the lower 20s later this afternoon. Travel is strongly discouraged and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. If you must travel, use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses, and elevated highways. Reduce travel speed as appropriate and leave extra room for vehicles in front of you. Do not assume that a well traveled road will be totally free of ice. Dress warmly and keep a winter travel kit in your vehicle."
