WEST POINT– Friday marked the final day of the West Point Christmas Classic and what a day it was. Thrilling wins, technical fouls and a hot clock made for an interesting day.

Brewer 65, Meek 34 (championship)

From their 14-8 first quarter lead to their hot clock in the fourth, it was all Brewer Patriots Friday night as they took on the Meek Tigers in the title game.

Brewer couldn't miss in the game, getting shot after shot to fall and steadily increasing the lead over the course of 32 minutes.

The final dagger came just two minutes into the fourth when a layup by the Patriots gave them a 31-point lead and started the hot clock.

Brewer took the game, 65-34, and the 2018 West Point Christmas Classic title.

The Patriots were led by Tyler Peck with 11, Zach Kodra with 11 and Levi Kelley with eight.

John Mark Abercrombie and Bryson Hudson were the top scorers for second-place Meek, with eight and six, respectively.

West Point 57, Corner 52 (3rd place)

It was back and forth in the first quarter of the third-place game between the West Point Warriors and the Corner Yellow Jackets. Neither team gained much of an advantage in the first, but Corner came out two points better, 10-8, after one full quarter of play.

The second quarter was played dead even with West Point and Corner trading points up and down the floor. When the dust settled, Corner took a 24-22 lead to the half.

Again, the third quarter was played with dead even scoring, 39-37, despite Corner being up as much as seven. This set up a game-defining fourth quarter of play.

The fourth was a whirlwind of action. West Point quickly took the lead on a three to open the frame, but Corner took it back on its next possession down the floor. The lead changed several times on subsequent trips down the floor, shifting gears in the last 30 seconds when, after getting called for traveling, Corner’s Jason Manning was hit with a technical foul. West Point hit both free throws and scored on the ensuing possession to make the score 55-52. The call proved to be the difference in the game, and the Warriors took third place by a final of 57-52.

Kolton Sapp got a game-high 20 points for West Point. Rylan Jones had 12, Whitt Laney had eight and Austin Dubberly had seven.

For Corner, Tyler Barnett led the Yellow Jackets with 16, followed by Logan Entrekin with 13 and Jason Manning with six.

Good Hope 58, Danville 48

Although the score is not indicative, the Good Hope Raiders dominated their contest against the Danville Hawks. The Raiders were on in all facets of the game. The defense was solid and caused problems for the Hawks. They knocked down their open looks and took control of the game early. The outcome was never in doubt as Good Hope took the win in the consolation game, 58-48.

Pacing the Raiders was Isaac McDonald with 20. Cole Maddox and Michael Lowe each got 11, Landyn Freeman had seven and Noah Fendley had six.

Lucas Sparsk and Kaleb Bolton led Danville with 10 apiece.

Priceville 62, Cold Springs 44

Cold Springs took an early lead in the first but from the second quarter on, it was all Priceville. The Bulldogs hung 19 in the second and 21 in the third on their way to a 62-44 win to end their run in the West Point Christmas Tournament.

Brock Payne had 14 for the Bulldogs, while Eli Moon had 12 and Tyon Jones 11.

For the blue and gold, it was Hunter McClendon with 11, Adam Hill with 10, Logan Rice with eight and Dylan Byrd with seven.
