They will play Susan Moore Friday at noon.

Cullman 68, Athens 53 (Boys)

Cullman's boys took part in the Bracy Invitational. After taking down Belgreen, 81-78 and Mars Hill, 67-64, the Bearcats fell in an overtime thriller against Deshler, putting them in a third-place game against Athens. A quick first-quarter start for the Bearcats was what the doctor ordered, as they wound up taking third place.

Zane Manley put up eight of his 15 points in the opening quarter as Cullman jumped out to a 20-8 lead after one; seven players found the scoring column in the second as the Bearcats pushed their lead to 39-17 at the half and 53-27 after three en route to getting the third-place trophy.

The trio of Jayden Sullins (13), Trey Tucker (11), and Dylan Finch (10), also put up double-figure scoring for the Bearcats, as all but two players found the scoring column for Cullman, as they finish 3-1 in the tournament, and improve to 12-7 on the season. Their next game will not be until January 2nd, as they travel to Guntersville.

Cullman 53, Fairview 43 (JV Boys)

Cullman and Fairview went neck-and-neck through one half of basketball in the JV Boys tournament at West Point, but the Bearcats played strong defense in the second, outscoring the Aggies, 25-15, and wound up winning by double digits.

Christopher Nichols scored eight of Fairview's 14 first-quarter points, as the Aggies took a 14-12 lead after one. Four different Cullman players were in the scoring column in the second quarter, as the Bearcats outscored the Aggies, 17-12, to take a 29-26 lead to the locker room.

A strong Bearcat defense held Fairview to just eight third-quarter points, and Ben Monastero and Brennan Anderson scored nine of Cullman's 13 third-quarter points to stretch their lead to 42-34 after three. The Aggies continued to struggle to score points in the final quarter as the Bearcats increased their lead to double figures, and they ended up taking it by 10 points.

Monastero finished with 18 points for Cullman, followed by Anderson, who had 12, and Stevie Gardner, who had nine, as seven of the 10 Bearcats players scored at least two points in the game.

Nichols scored 11 points to lead Fairview. Landon Talley had six.  Austin Jackson ended up with five. Devan Jennings, Isaac Gandy, Mason Black and Cody Cox had four points each, and Ethan Satterfield ended up with three.
