CULLMAN – Things got off to a rocky start for Vinemont when the Eagles took on a hot-shooting St. Bernard team. The Saints were money from the floor, burning up the nets and taking a 21-5 advantage after eight minutes of play.

St. Bernard picked up in the second right where it left off in the first. The hot shooting and tenacious defense from the Saints allowed them to extend their lead to 20 at the half. Vinemont played hard in the second half, cutting into the Saints' lead, but the Eagles were unable to get closer than 16, falling by a final of 53-33.

St. Bernard moves on to play J.B. Pennington at 4:45 p.m. Friday in the championship match. Vinemont will play Southeastern at 2:15 p.m. in the consolation game.

The halftime break did nothing to slow down the momentum; the Lady Eagles continued to apply pressure in the third, ballooning the lead to 25 heading to the fourth, when they put it in cruise control, easily taking the victory by a final of 57-39.
