MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) will have a greater Christmas presence this holiday season by assigning all available Alabama State Troopers to patrol Alabama’s roadways and to bolster efforts to prevent traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities.

The goal is quite simple: to save lives. Let’s #ArriveAliveAlabama.

From now through midnight Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, Troopers will heighten enforcement. Please obey speed limits, insist everyone in the vehicle buckle up and/or use child-restraint systems, avoid driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, avoid driving while texting and distracted in other ways, and avoid following too closely. These driving behaviors are among the deadliest.

Grant funding from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will enable ALEA to conduct this seasonal safety initiative and provide additional Trooper shifts.
