CULLMAN – Below is a list of Christmas events happening around the community from Thursday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 10. For more details, visit www.CullmanTribune.com/calendar.

Fridays and Saturdays, though Dec. 22

Santa Claus at Dodge City Park, 6-8 p.m.

Santa Claus will be at Dodge City Park Friday and Saturday nights through Dec. 22, from 6-8 p.m.

Bring the kids by for hot chocolate and cookies with Santa, while enjoying the lights.

 

Through Sunday, Dec. 31

15th Annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display, 5 p.m. at Sportsman Lake Park

The 15th annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display at Sportsman Lake Park will take place from now through Dec. 31*.

The cost is $10 per vehicle.

This year's display will have a sleigh ride, train ride, horse and carriage rides, a snow machine, photo booth, and much more. “Come by to see Santa and play in the snow!” (Santa will only be here until the 23rd.)

The display will be closed Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 11-12; Wednesday and Thursdays, open from 5-9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, open from 5-10 p.m.; Sundays, open from 5-9 p.m.

 

Holly Pond Cards in the Park, daily at Governor’s Park

In cooperation with the merchants of Holly Pond and the Town of Holly Pond, the Holly Pond Civitans are sponsoring this year’s Christmas Cards in the Park. Various merchants, school, church and civic groups, as well as individuals, created giant Christmas greeting “cards,” which are being displayed at Governor’s Park in Holly Pond from Dec. 1-31.

 

Thursday, Dec. 7

Dr. Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Christmas Tree Lighting, 5:30 p.m. at Cullman Regional

The Cullman Regional Foundation will host the annual Dr. Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m.

The special ceremony, which will take place in the Colonel Cullmann Room in Professional Office Building II, is a way to honor and remember local citizens. The late Claude Alsbrooks, a former Foundation president, will also be honored.

The community and contributors are invited to the tree lighting ceremony to view a presentation of the names of those being honored and remembered.

Christmas music will be performed by Cullman High School music and theater students, Dr. Joe Johnson, and the First Baptist Church Ladies’ Ensemble and Children’s Choir. The evening will conclude with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Light refreshments will be served during and after the ceremony.

 

Holly Pond High School Band and Choir Christmas Concert, 6:30 p.m. at Holly Pond High School

The Holly Pond High School Christmas Concert will take place on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The band and the choir will perform. The event will take place in the school's gymnasium.

 

Wallace State Christmas Spectacular, 7 p.m. at Wallace State Community College

Wallace State Community College Fine and Performing Arts will present its annual Christmas Spectacular at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre. Admission is free.

Four ensembles within the Fine and Performing Arts program will entertain with a selection of holiday tunes. The Wallace State Jazz Band, under the direction of program chair Ricky Burks; the Wallace State Concert Band, under the direction of Jacob Keisler; and the Wallace State Singers and Wallace State Choir, under the direction of Tiffany Richter, will all perform.

The 7 p.m. show will include a special segment featuring SingKids!

 

Friday, Dec. 8

Santa Stops at Good Hope Pharmacy, 3-6 p.m.

Santa Stops Here- FREE SANTA VISIT

Hot cocoa, cookies and candy cane treats for the kids. What a great way to start off the holiday season with your family.

The pharmacy is located at 1167 County Road 437, Cullman, AL 35055.

 

Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9

Cullman High School Performing Arts Presents: "Scrooge: The Musical" 7 p.m. at Cullman High School

Cullman High School Performing Arts Presents: "Scrooge: The Musical" on Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

Voted Best in Show at 2017 State Trumbauer!

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 children and may be purchased at the door of the CHS auditorium.

 

Saturday, Dec. 9

Good Hope Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park, 2 p.m. beginning at Good Hope High School

The annual Good Hope Christmas Parade will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. The parade, which will start at the high school and end at the municipal park, will be followed by Christmas in the Park, where visitors can enjoy the kid zone with train rides, hayrides, bouncy houses, the cookie house and Santa Claus. Free food will be provided by the City of Good Hope.

 

Holly Pond Christmas Parade and Cards in the Park, 3:30 p.m. in Holly Pond

The annual Holly Pond Christmas Parade is this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. The parade will end at Governor’s Park, where the Holly Pond Chorus will perform a program of Christmas favorites. There will be refreshments, music and of course, Santa.

In addition, as a part of this event, the walking paths in the park will be lined with luminaries, each with the name of someone remembered or honored by a family or individual. Luminaries are being sold at various Holly Pond merchants with the proceeds to benefit the Holly Pond Civitan Scholarship fund.

 

Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10

West Point Arts Department 2nd Annual Christmas Spectacular, West Point High School

The West Point wind ensemble, Warriorettes, color guard, majorettes, dance studio, percussion ensemble and singers will be performing some of your favorite Christmas tunes!

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

Also, the West Point Christmas Dance Recital will take place Dec. 10 at 4 p.m.

Location for all shows: West Point High School auditorium

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or from any West Point band student.

*If you are able, please bring a small gift (toys or clothing) for the West Point Christmas Love program!

 

Sunday, Dec. 10

Christmas Carnival at Garden City First Baptist Church, 2-4 p.m.

Free for the whole family!

Carnival games, prizes, inflatable, food, pictures with Santa, cake walk and so much more!
