HUNTSVILLE – The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a FREEZE WARNING for 9 p.m. Sunday through 8 a.m. Monday. The warning is for the counties of Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall and Cullman. This warning includes the cites of Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Russellville, Red Bay, Moulton, Town Creek, Athens, Huntsville, Decatur, Albertville, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab and Cullman.
TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED…Temperatures will begin to fall below freezing between the hours of about 9 PM and Midnight tonight, and remain below freezing until around 8 AM Monday morning for the entire Tennessee Valley.
TEMPERATURE…Low temperatures in the mid to upper 20s.
IMPACTS…These temperatures will result in a hard freeze and will kill crops or other sensitive vegetation.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
