HOLLY POND – Friday night’s matchup between Holly Pond and Fultondale began on the side of the Broncos as they scored first on a hard run from Kyler Chaney. However, Fultondale could not be stifled. The Wildcats came out to put up 28 unanswered points to lead Holly Pond 28-6 at the half.

The second half was just as deflating for the Broncos as Fultondale put up an additional 27 points before the Broncos scored on their last possession of the game. Holly Pond quarterback Chaney passed to Alex Corneglio for the TD, with the 2-point conversion making it a 55-14 deficit with 3:37 remaining in the game.

Fultondale downed the ball to end the game with a 41-point victory.

The Broncos fall to 5-3, and are 2-2 in 3 A Region 6.

Holly Pond will travel to Vinemont for its next matchup on Friday, Oct. 27. A win will secure the Broncos a spot in the AHSAA playoffs.
