Fairview looks good in first match since County Tournament

FAIRVIEW – Thursday marked the first match for Fairview and Good Hope since meeting in the Cullman County volleyball tournament finals. Ironically enough, it was against each other as Fairview again got the best of Good Hope.

Fairview took the first set in the match 25-23 behind strong play from Abbi Taylor and Ally Hogeland as well as McKinna Yearwood.

The second set was a back-and-forth affair with no team being able to open up more than a four-point lead. Midway through the set Good Hope held a 17-13 lead but Fairview rattled of eight straight points to take a 21-17 advantage. Good Hope fought back, and when down by two, Kate Kent gave Good Hope the lead with a block and two kills. However, Fairview held strong and went on to take the set 29-27 and the match 2-0.

Fairview over Brindlee Mountain 25-11, 25-22

In Fairview's second match of the night, the Lady Aggies controlled the pace when they faced Brindlee Mountain. Fairview jumped out to an early 5-1 lead before Brindlee Mountain came back and tied it at 5. The points went back and forth on the next two serves before Fairview turned on the gas and kicked it into high gear. The Lady Aggies took over the game down the stretch and took set one 25 – 11.

Brindlee Mountain opened up the second set on an 8-0 run before the Lady Aggies finally settled down and went on a 10-0 run themselves. Fairview held Brindlee Mountain at bay and took the game 25-22 in the set 2-0.
