Cullman Oktoberfest 2017 officially kicks off Wednesday

CULLMAN –  Cullman Oktoberfest 2017 will officially kick off Wednesday, Oct. 4, with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at the Festhalle downtown. Festivities will include the introduction of this year’s Burgermeister, John Dean, the tapping of the kegs and the crowning of 2017’s Miss Oktoberfest. Hanceville High School’s German Band will perform.

Oktoberfest events have already begun around town, and citizens can enjoy German food and music at the Festhalle beginning today, Tuesday.

Wednesday, Oct. 4 (OPENING DAY)

  • 9 a.m.-2 p.m. – School tours
  • 10:30 a.m.- until – Freddie Day Catering, German food
  • 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – Terri Pines Country Club German Lunch Buffet, reservations required
  • 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Wolfgang Moritz, German music
  • 5-10 p.m. Carriage rides at Festhalle
  • 5-7 p.m. – Sacred Heart German Dinner at the church
