HANCEVILLE – As the women applied blush, mascara and lipstick, they shared the stories of their battle against cancer and forged a bond that only those who are going through similar situations can establish.
The women were part of the Look Good Feel Better program offered by the Wallace State Community College Salon and Spa Management program through the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Cullman County.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Angie Dingler. “It was very informative. I learned things I thought I knew was doing. I really appreciate what all you’re doing and all the products.”
“I think it was very worthwhile,” said Glenda Moss. “I enjoyed it.”
“This was so fun,” said Renee Quick. “I enjoyed this very much. I didn’t know what to expect but it was better than I thought it would be. I was kind of nervous about it. And these two ladies made it really fun. They really put me at ease. They did a great job.”
Those two ladies were Sabrina Flanigan and Amy Moore of the Salon and Spa Management program.
“It was amazing,” said Flanigan, who helped Janice York apply her makeup. “I feel so fortunate that we as cosmetologists have this opportunity to give back, how just a little bit of time can make such a big difference in someone’s day.”
