Lady Bearcats take first, Bearcats hold on to second at CWAC

CULLMAN– Cullman High School took to the water of the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center Tuesday afternoon for its last sprint meet of the year. The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats swam against Hazel Green, Athens and Boaz.

CULLMAN LADY BEARCATS

The Lady Bearcats had an impressive showing Tuesday afternoon as they bested Athens for first place.

The Lady ‘Cats had two swimmers finish first in their individual races. Cabri Adams in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 29.81 and Claire Ogstad in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 35.26.

In addition, the relay team of Adams and Ogstad, along with Reese McNeel and Kelly Warren, took first in the women's 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:04.7.

BEARCATS

The Cullman Bearcats took home second place, narrowly missing a first-place finish that was claimed by Boaz. The Bearcats had one swimmer place first in two different individual events. Colby Hutson came in first in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 24.61 and set a new Cullman High School record in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 26.70.

Cullman will next take to the water on Oct. 19 at the Scottsboro Invitational.
