MUSCLE SHOALS – Cullman split a pair of matches Thursday afternoon, defeating Mars Hill, but falling to Muscle Shoals.
The Lady Bearcats took care of the Mars Hill Lady Panthers in straight sets, 25-14, 25-14.
"Against Mars Hill we served well, the passing was great and we played more relaxed," said Cullman coach Megan Cagle.
Cullman played hard against Muscle Shoals, but was unable to overcome the Lady Trojans, falling in straight sets, 25-9, 25 – 15.
"Gracie Apel, a six-rotation player, got hurt in the tournament over the weekend and was out tonight," said Cagle. "It hurt because we had to move players around to fill holes.
"We made some mental errors and got stuck in a serve, receive and it just snowballed from there," said the coach on the loss to Muscle Shoals. "We just couldn't get a run together."
Cullman looks to get things back on track Tuesday when they welcome the Lady Black Bears of Austin to town.
