CULLMAN – Although the rain was pouring and the wind was blowing, the afternoon storm did little to dampen the spirits of the Cullman High School swim team, who held its first meet of the year at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center Tuesday. The Bearcats faced Buckhorn and Randolph High Schools.
Cullman’s girls took first place with some great work in the water.
The Bearcats had two female swimmers place first in their individual events. Cabri Adams took first in the 100-yard individual medley, 50-yard butterfly and the 50-yard backstroke. Claire Ogstad took first in the 50-yard breaststroke.
Along with impressive individual efforts, the Lady Bearcats relay team of Reese McNeel, Kelly Warren, Adams, and Ruby Hudson placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Cullman Bearcat boys’ squad took third place.
"We are looking forward to our next meet Sept. 12 at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center," said Cullman swim coach Cory Goble.
