Rodney Dylan Witcher / Cullman Police Department

CULLMAN COUNTY – A Welti man was arrested late last week and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rodney Dylan Witcher, 48, was arrested by Cullman Police Department Sgt. Chris Thomason and officers Trey Higginbotham, Cole Kelley and Dustin Colburn at his residence. The original arrest was for distribution, but according to a media release from the CPD, during that arrest, Witcher was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, leading to the additional charges.

The distribution charge stemmed from an undercover operation during which Thomason, Investigator Justin Craft and Colburn allegedly made a controlled buy of methamphetamine from Witcher.

Witcher is being held in the Cullman County Detention Center.
