UPDATE: Sheriff Gentry confirms 2 fatalities in home on County Road 1301

Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry has confirmed two fatalities in tonight's incident on County Road 1301. A visibly distraught Gentry, speaking to the media at the Kelley Community Center off Eva Road, said, "What I can confirm is that this afternoon, approximately a little after 5 p.m., we had a homeowner that was shot and killed at a residence located in Cullman County. The individual that shot and killed that individual was also killed by another occupant at the residence, and at this time, my heart and my prayers go out to the family..and that's all we're going to release right now."

The identities of the victim and the assailant have not been released. The incident occurred on County Road 1301 in north Cullman.

CULLMAN COUNTY – The Cullman County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a possible homicide, confirmed a source within the department. The source says the scene is still active, and that no other details are being released at this time.

What we know is that the situation is ongoing on County Road 1301 near the Kelley Community Center. The initial call from county dispatch at 6;39 p.m. reported the address of the incident as County Road 1301 in Cullman.
