GOOD HOPE –  Local authorities made a substantial drug bust recently, netting two trafficking charges. Cullman Police Department Sgt. Chris Thomason led the investigation.

The CPD and Cullman County Sheriff’s Office on June 7 executed a search warrant at 82 Williams Road in Good Hope. During the search, officers allegedly recovered 7 ounces of methamphetamine, 17 suboxone strips, oxycodone 10 mg pills and various pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Rachel Ann Reeves, 33, of Cullman was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in illegal drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Charles Cameron Simmons, 26, of Cullman and Steven Andrew Waters, 38, of Stevenson were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Both have since made bond.

According to Thomason, “This was a significant amount of illegal drugs removed from our community. Probable cause for the search warrant was developed from the hard work of patrol officers performing their regular duties.”

Citizens with information on illegal drug activity are asked to contact the Cullman Police Department at 256-775-7170 or 256-734-1434.
