9 area students graduate from Samford University; 12 named to Dean’s List

BIRMINGHAM – Nine area students received a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from Samford University recently.

Graduates are:

  • Carissa Faith Crider, of Arab, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude from the Orlean Beeson School of Education.
  • Emily Copeland Morgan, of Oneonta, earned a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude from the Cumberland School of Law.
  • Chelsea Cassanne Rollo, of Bremen, earned a Master of Accountancy degree from the Brock School of Business.
  • Heather Anne Shiflett, of Vinemont, earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, magna cum laude from the McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
  • Emmalee Elizabeth Tidwell, of Cullman, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Ida Moffett School of Nursing.
  • Janet Lynn Turner, of Hanceville, earned a Doctor of Education degree from the Orlean Beeson School of Education.
  • Ashley B. Vickers, of Arab, earned a Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law.
  • Megan Walker, of Cullman, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Fellow) magna cum laude from the Howard College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Elvira Granitovna Zinurova, of Cullman, earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree cum laude from the McWhorter School of Pharmacy.

Samford University releases its Dean's Lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
