CULLMAN – Three people had to be extricated from a home on Cullman's west side overnight after the powerful storms that pounded the area left a tree down on a house.
"At approximately 2:30 a.m. Cullman Fire Rescue was dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Dripping Springs Road Northwest," said CFR's Brian Bradberry. " Engine 1 arrived on the scene to find three people entrapped in the home. Engine 1 Lt. Jason Lamb requested additional resources to assist with extricating the occupants."
Bradberry says the extrication process was tedious due to the home's structural damage and the lack of safe egress points.
"Two people were removed with a ladder and one patient's rescue required firefighters to cut and remove a portion of the tree," he said.
One of the occupants was transported by Cullman Emergency Medical Services to Cullman Regional for evaluation.
CFR Engines 1, 17 and 512 were all on the scene to assist, along with Cullman EMS, Cullman Police Department and Cullman Power Board.
