2017 SEC Baseball Tournament: Arkansas 12, Auburn 0
It was the Chad Spanberger show in game three of day three when the Arkansas Razorbacks no hit the Auburn Tigers. It only took the Hogs seven innings to dispatch the Tigers and Spanberger's record-setting three home runs and seven RBIs set the tone for the game.
Arkansas got on the board quickly in the top of the first when Spanberger crushed a 2-0 pitch over the right-field wall to give Arkansas a 1-0 lead. A lead they never relinquished.
The Razorbacks added two more in the top of the third. With one out, Eric Cole singled up the middle to bring Spanberger to the dish. In almost a mirror of his first at-bat, he took the 1-0 pitch deep to right for a two-run home run to give Arkansas the 3-0 advantage.
Arkansas put the game out of reach in the top of the fourth when they sent 10 men to the plate, six of whom scored. After Carson Shaddy flew out to center, Jax Biggers drew a four-pitch walk. Grant Koch then singled and Jared Gates walked. Jake Arledge picked up an RBI when he singled to center to make the score 4-0. Cole struck out swinging for the second out of the inning to bring Tiger killer Spanberger to the plate. Just as he dd in his previous two at-bats,Spanberger deposited a 0-1 pitch over the right-center field wall for a grand slam. Dominic Fletcher later doubled and Luke Benefield scored to make it 9-0.
The Razorbacks scored another two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to push the score to 12-0 and eliminate the Auburn Tigers from the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament.
